1. Keeping the Area Clean and Moisturized:
- Ointment Application: Apply a thin layer of a healing ointment (like Aquaphor or Vaseline) to the treated area several times a day, especially after cleansing. Use a clean cotton swab to apply, and avoid touching the area with dirty hands.
- Cleansing: Gently cleanse the area with mild, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water twice daily, being careful not to rub or scrub.
- Pat Dry: After cleansing, gently pat the area dry with a clean cotton pad, avoiding rubbing.
2. Avoiding Sun Exposure and Certain Activities:
- Sun Protection: Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for at least 2 weeks after the procedure. Wear a hat and use a high-SPF sunscreen on the treated area.
- Swimming and Hot Tubs: Avoid swimming, hot tubs, and other water activities for 2 weeks.
- Sweating: Avoid intense exercise or activities that cause excessive sweating for at least 10 days.
3. Avoiding Rubbing, Picking, and Scratching:
- Allow Flaking: Do not pick, scratch, or rub the area, as this can cause pigment loss or scarring. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away.
4. Other Important Reminders:
- Sleep on your back: Avoid sleeping on your face to prevent pressure on the treated area.
- No Makeup: Avoid applying makeup on the treated area for at least 5 days.
- No Exfoliating Products: Avoid using exfoliating products, retinol acids, or other harsh chemicals on the treated area for at least 30 days.
- No Facials, Botox, etc.: Avoid facials, botox, chemical treatments, or microdermabrasion for at least 4 weeks.
- No Waxing, Tinting, or Threading: Avoid waxing, tinting, or threading your brows for 6 weeks.
